Presentation: Driving green product development and human rights due diligence in global supply chains through public procurement 

Speaker Kristian Hemström, Assistant Director of Sustainability - Stockholm County Council

Kristian is working with the politically defined sustainability goals in Stockholm County Council, e.g. through the procurement process, to stimulate the development of more environmentally friendly healthcare products and strengthen social sustainability in supply chains, e.g. by monitoring supplier compliance to the County Council's Code of Conduct.

Speaker Vasco Grilo, Chief Procurement Officer Janssen EMEA - Johnson & Johnson

Vasco heads up the EMEA Commercial Procurement function for the Pharmaceutical Group at Johnson & Johnson, leading a team of sourcing and procurement professionals positioned across the region. Under his leadership, the team is enabling the Pharmaceutical Group to succeed on the challenging goals of growth, simplification and value creation.

Vasco has an Engineering degree in Metallurgy and Material Sciences from the Technical University of Lisbon in Portugal, a Masters in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milan. Vasco joined Johnson & Johnson in 2003 and has since progressed further in several procurement lead roles. Most recently Vasco headed up the Global Pharma R&D Sourcing function for the Pharmaceutical group at Johnson & Johnson. Vasco lives between Milan and Lisbon.
